Igor Levit signs exclusive recording deal with Sony Classical

Sony Classical has signed an exclusive long-term agreement with pianist Igor Levit.
His first recording for the label, to be released in autumn 2013, will feature solo works by Beethoven.

A BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist and a 2012/13 ECHO Rising Star, Levit has already given recitals at Cologne’s Philharmonie, Frankfurt’s Alte Oper and Hamburg’s Laeiszhalle. Orchestral engagements have included concerts with the London Philharmonic Orchestra under Vladimir Jurowski, Budapest Festival Orchestra with Iván Fischer, Staatskapelle Dresden under Mikhail Jurowski and Wiener Symphoniker under Fabio Luisi.

Forthcoming engagements include debuts with Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and WDR Sinfonieorchester; appearances at London’s Wigmore Hall, Berlin’s Philharmonie, Zurich’s Tonhalle, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw and Vienna’s Musikverein; and a return to the London Philharmonic Orchestra. 2013 also sees Levit become the Artist in Residence at the 2013 Heidelberger Frühling.
